JULIE

A California Wedding Photographer for the bride who value tradition but is not afraid to break it and for companies looking to propel their brand through styled imagery. I strive to craft images that are graceful and effortless, full of love, light, laughter or movement. True to life in color, clean and timeless.

What began with landscape photography throughout college soon transitioned into portrait work and wedding photography when we started growing our family. Much of my wedding photography work includes a couple in a large sweeping landscape shot as my love for nature and landscape photography are at the roots of my work. I absolutley love the organic living breathing whirlwind of an experience that makes up a wedding day. From the calm to the busy and the tears to the laughter. I find great joy in God's design of family and love seeing couples surrounded by all their favorite people on their wedding day.

More recently, I've been working with businesses and interior designers in commercial and editorial work where I get to bring their brands to life with styled content creation and launch parties for new event spaces or a recent rebranding. I've help brands gain exposure through features and publishings with New York Times, Glitter Guide, Apartment Therapy, Rue and Magnolia Rouge.

PHILOSOPHY

My wedding photography style merges photojournalism with fine art photography. While I do approach your wedding day with a photojournalistic style, I will stylize any details as needed, take some family formals and direct you into beautiful lighting with a few prompts along the to create some beautiful portraits from your wedding day. I’m happy to grab you some water or bustle your dress. It’s your day and it’s my honor to be part of such a beautiful experience.

Family portraits or engagement sessions run about one hour long usually an hour or two before sunset. We will stroll around a field or beach stopping off along the way for formals and candids. I do my best to keep things moving for any with little ones so it is more of an adventure of exploring and fun and less about bossing and bribery.

If you're a new mom, I will come to you for your newborn session in home so you can stay warm and comfy. Those sessions can run up to two plus hours as we take as much time needed to clean, cuddle and coo to make it an enjoyable experience.

Brands are totally custom and begin with a phone meeting to go over your brand, color, style and objective. Then we dive into dreaming up the content you need to make your business grow through what has become the number one methods to reach all online consumers, photos. We work to create a cohesive looks for your brand from furniture and flowers to paper goods and people. LOCATION

Santa Cruz, CALIFORNIA

I live near the majestic redwoods and the wild ocean on a sunny hill top by the beach town of Santa Cruz. We recently moved to a couple acres where we're starting a little homestead. If not digging in the dirt, you can often find me in the water surfing, swimming, playing waterpolo or with friends and family soaking up life.
